Yorkshire Wildlife Park, Potteric Carr nature reserve, Cusworth Hall and the castles at Conisbrough are all a short drive off, the town centre and its museum, theatre and racecourse are ten minutes in, and Sheffield, York and the edge of the Peak District are all comfortable day trips.
